John F. Michel, CPA
Education and Experience
John has 30 years of tax strategy experience, facilitating projects of varying complexity for clients of all sizes and entity types. He has considerable experience with New Markets Tax Credits, alternative energy credits and other investment credits. He has worked with privately held and publicly traded companies, domestic and international, from start-up to more than $1 billion in assets.
In addition to other public accounting experiences, John spent 15 years as a national tax partner for a large, international accounting firm. He has advised companies on deal structuring, due diligence, tax consulting and tax controversy representation. He has worked with private-equity and real estate firms on tax-efficient acquisitions and sales and financing.
He also serves on the board of directors of three privately held companies. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Wright State University and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Cincinnati.
